We have just deployed one of the more important architectural changes to the platform: a new way of representing users, specialist profiles, teams and companies. One user account can now combine a Specialist Profile, Team memberships and Company memberships. Recruiter is a role inside a Company, not a separate account type.
The new model is live and applies from now on.
One account instead of permanent account types
The user account remains the identity used for sign-in and security. Professional contexts are separate: the Specialist Profile represents an individual's professional presence, a Team is for specialists working together, and a Company has its own profile, workspace, members, permissions and recruitment.
The same person can use several of these contexts at the same time without creating another login.
The new model at a glance
- User account: One account for sign-in, security and settings.
- Specialist Profile: The user's personal professional presence.
- Team: A separate collaboration context for specialists with a shared Team Profile.
- Company: A separate organization with its own profile, workspace, members, permissions and recruitment.
- Recruiter: A role inside a Company, not a separate account type.
- Skills First: Visibility and privacy rules for the Specialist Profile.
Team vs Company
Team
- Purpose: Specialist collaboration
- Profile: Team Profile
- Members: Owner, Manager, Member
- Services: Team services
- Recruitment: Not the Team's primary purpose
Company
- Purpose: Organization operations and recruitment
- Profile: Company Profile
- Members: Owner, Admin, Recruiter, Member
- Services: According to the functions available for the Company
- Recruitment: Jobs and recruitment processes
Recruiter is a role inside a Company
Recruitment belongs to the Company that runs it. A user receives recruitment permissions through their role in that Company. This removes the need for a separate Recruiter account and allows several authorized members to work in the same Company context.
Skills First stays with the Specialist Profile
Skills First remains a visibility and privacy mechanism of the Specialist Profile. Company membership or the Recruiter role does not by itself reveal hidden identity. What a Company member may do and what specialist data they may see remain separate rules.
The iOS and Android apps are in the finishing development
The iOS and Android apps are in the finishing development. They are another way to use the same platform, not separate products. The same account, data and core processes remain shared between web and mobile.
We are not announcing a release date yet.
