Answers about your account, profiles, services, teams, companies and privacy.

Getting started

  • How do I create an account?

Create one personal MySkillsSpace account. After signing in, you choose how you want to use the platform, and you can pick more than one answer: finding work, offering services or working in a team creates your Specialist Profile, and hiring creates a company with you as its owner. Everything else waits in your workspace: create or join teams, create another company, or join one when you are invited. You never need separate accounts for these contexts.

  • Is MySkillsSpace free to use?

Yes. Creating an account, publishing your profile and your services, and browsing other people’s work are all free. There is no advertising and no sponsored placement in the listings.

  • I forgot my password. What now?

Select Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter your email address. We send a reset link that stays valid for a limited time, so request a new one if it expires before you use it.

Accounts, teams and companies

  • Do I need separate accounts to be a specialist, join a team or manage a company?

No. One MySkillsSpace account represents you. Your Specialist Profile, team memberships and company memberships are separate professional contexts connected to that account.

  • What is a recruiter in MySkillsSpace?

A recruiter is a person with recruitment permissions inside a company. Recruiter is a company role, not a separate account type, and it applies only within the company where it was assigned. A company's owner and admins can recruit as well; a member with the Member role cannot.

  • Can I be a specialist and also run a company?

Yes. Your Specialist Profile can remain active while you create or join a company. You can also belong to teams at the same time. Each context keeps its own profile, permissions and responsibilities.

Profile and services

  • What is the difference between my profile and a service?

Your profile is who you are: your experience, your skills and how you prefer to work. A service is one concrete thing you offer, with its own scope, delivery model and price. A profile can carry several services.

  • How do I publish a service?

Open your workspace and choose Create service. Describe the scope, how you deliver it and what it costs. A service stays a draft until every required field is filled in, and you can unpublish it at any time.

  • How do I update my profile?

Everything lives in your workspace: your profile, your services, and the documents attached to them. Changes to a published profile appear immediately.

Privacy and Skills First

  • Can I hide my identity while my work remains discoverable?

Yes. Skills First lets your Specialist Profile stay discoverable through your skills, experience and work while your name, photo, employers, contact details, links and city stay hidden; the server removes them before the page is sent, and it also replaces your name, e-mail addresses, phone number and links inside the text you wrote. Being a company member or a recruiter does not by itself reveal a hidden identity. Disclosure follows your settings and the flow your profile allows: a signed-in person can deliberately reveal a profile that takes part in Skills First discovery, and every reveal is recorded, including writing to you through your anonymous profile. With the Identity hidden setting your name is not shown on the profile at all, and a company learns who you are when you accept its recruitment invitation. In your privacy settings you decide whether you take part and how much detail the anonymous profile shows, and the privacy check there tells you what your own text still gives away.

  • Who can see my profile and contact details?

You decide, in your workspace privacy settings. Visibility is set per profile: public, signed-in members only, companies only, identity hidden, or private. Companies only means people who recruit on behalf of a company; being a member of a company without recruitment permissions does not count. Your e-mail and phone number are shown only to those people, and only if you switch them on.

  • Is my personal data secure?

Your data is stored on our own infrastructure and is never sold or passed to third parties for their own purposes. The privacy policy sets out what we store, why, and how long we keep it, and you can export or delete your data from your account.

Conversations and account

  • How do companies get in touch with me?

In two ways, and they are not the same thing. A message is just a conversation: a company can write to you from your profile or from one of your services, and nothing formal starts. A recruitment invitation is different: it describes the role or the work and the terms on offer, it can carry a skills assessment, and it waits for your decision in your workspace. Only an invitation you accept starts a recruitment process. Nothing obliges you to answer either.

  • How do I change my password?

Open your account settings and choose Change password. You will need your current password to set a new one.

  • Can I delete my account?

Yes, from your account settings. Deleting removes your profile and withdraws your published services from the site. It cannot be undone, and we keep only what the law requires us to keep.

Teams, invitations and messages

  • What kinds of invitations can I receive?

Two. A company sends a recruitment invitation about a role or a piece of work; a team’s owner or manager sends a team invitation to join their team. Either can carry a skills assessment the sender asks you to take, which becomes available once you accept. Both wait in your workspace until you answer, and nothing obliges you to.

  • When does a conversation start?

Every recruitment invitation carries its own thread, which either side can open before or after the decision. A company can also write to you about one of your services from its page, and to a team through the team’s inbox, which the team’s owner and managers read. Everything lands in Messages.

  • How do teams work?

A specialist creates a team, invites members and publishes it once it has a second member, a headline and a description. A published team has its own page, services and case studies and is listed in the teams directory. A team can also open itself to join requests, which its owner and managers answer.
